In this series entitled Finding Joy in the Journey. We’re working our way verse by verse through the Book of Philippians . . . Paul’s letter to the church at Philippi written close to the end of his life from a Roman prison cell. In spite of his life circumstances, we find the key theme of “joy” throughout the book of Philippians. In fact, one verse that could be considered the theme verse for the entire book is Philippians 2:17 where Paul writes: “But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice of service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.” Paul knew what it meant to suffer for the cause of Christ and yet he continually found joy in the Journey.
