The Student Ministry at Gateway Christian Church has the core purpose of helping students become better disciples of Jesus Christ. We want them to demonstrate their love for him through their Head, Heart, and Hands. Our Student Ministry ministers to fifth thru twelfth graders. The best way to stay caught up with the ministry is by connecting with us on Facebook and/or Instagram.
H3 Students Ministries:
Fusion – BreakTHROUGH – BreakOUT
Fusion is the cornerstone of our ministry to high school students. It meets on Sunday evenings through the school year at 6:00. Most of our evenings last until 7:45ish. The students gather in the large meeting area we called Stage 2. This program includes activities, games, topical conversation, and Biblical teaching. At the end of the evening we have a snack and some students sit around and play games, while others head to the gym. On occasion we do something totally different on Sundays, so it is best to check our Facebook page to see if something new is being promoted. Otherwise we will see you in Stage 2 at 6:00pm
We are very excited about our ministry to middle school students (grades 6-8), which includes BreakTHROUGH. This is a worship service geared just for this age group. We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:45. You can find us on the third floor of our Education Building in the room we refer to as Stage 3. BreakTHROUGH uses the Orange curriculum and includes relevant worship, exciting games, Biblical teaching, and weekly communion observance.
BreakOUT is a part of our Wednesday night ministry. This program is an exciting action packed team competition for our middle school students (grades 6-8). We begin in the gym at 6:30 where students gather with one of four teams. The teams then compete against each other in typical games with some sort of twist. After the competition, students move back to the main building and into the Stage 2 room for a brief lesson. BreakOUT concludes at 7:40. High School Students are encouraged to participate as group leaders/mentors.
Much, Much More …
There is so much more to our Student Ministry. We have classes for each age group on Sunday mornings at 9:30. We take trips to camps and conferences. We also participate in service projects and mission trips. We have several activities through out the year. One of our summer highlights are the four Sunday nights in June when we create our own Amazing Race.
